We are delighted to learn that Locogen MD, Andrew Lyle, has been elected to the board of Scottish Renewables for the next three-year term. We understand that it was a closely run election and Andy would like to thank everyone who voted for him.
Andy was co-opted to the Scottish Renewables board in 2017 for a single-year term to provide advice across a wider range of renewable technologies and scales. He enjoyed contributing to the board last year and now looks forward to continuing this work with Scottish Renewables over the next three years.
The coming years promise to be both exciting and challenging for the sector and Scottish Renewables will continue to play a pivotal role in representing the industry. There is much work to be done this year, particularly around:
- Renewable heating policy to meet the challenging targets set out in the Scottish Energy Strategy
- The consultation on the Feed-in Tariff and the need for a route to market post FIT
- Business rates for small-scale technologies
Now elected, Andy hopes to help Scottish Renewables understand these and other issues facing the renewable energy industry in Scotland from the view of a broad range of technologies, scales and sectors, and to ensure there is focus on securing a positive future for all in the industry.
Congratulations to Andy and thanks again to all who supported him.
