Repowering Onshore Wind in Scotland

Webinar

17th September | 2 - 3 pm

The Scottish Government has set ambitious targets to achieve 20GW of onshore wind by 2030 and repowering will play a key role in achieving this.

With the typical life expectancy of early wind turbine models being 20 years, many operational projects are needing to consider the available options for repowering and ensure that technical, grid, planning and property considerations are fully understood as quickly as possible. This will allow developers to clearly set out whether a subsidy-free wind development can be feasibly delivered for the next stage of the site’s life.

The webinar will be hosted by our technical wind and planning experts, Ian McLean and Euan Hutchison, who will discuss:

  • Key considerations for repowering your project
  • Typical repowering options
    1. Like-for-like option
    2. Reconditioned turbine options
    3. New large scale (~5-6MW) turbines
  • Grid and financial challenges
  • Planning considerations and emerging guidance

This 60-minute webinar will include a Q&A session and will be recorded. Register below to save your place.
