Locogen are delighted to announce that Aberdeenshire Council has granted permission for our Whitestones solar project in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The project, wholly owned by Locogen, is a 9.9MW solar scheme that will be capable of producing enough clean energy to power around 4,000 UK homes, equating to approximately 2,800 tonnes of CO2 savings per year.
Locogen’s inhouse Planning and Environment consultancy team undertook the planning application works, from ecology to managing the entire suite of technical studies.
Stuart Hamilton, Development Director at Locogen, commented: “We are delighted to have received planning approval under delegated powers, which is testament to the high-quality application produced by the team. Whitestones Solar project will deliver significant environmental, social and economic benefits and we look forward to progressing it further with energisation expected during 2027.”
This project continues our recent successes in the UK with over 250MW consented in the past few years. We are very much looking forward to continuing work on the project to bring it to operation.
