Melton Quarry Wind Project

Project Summary

This year, Melton Quarry are celebrating their 100th anniversary. With thoughts on the next 100 years, the quarry is looking at plans to ensure sustainable future growth.

One option they are looking at is using renewable wind energy from three wind turbines on their land to provide a significant proportion of the site’s energy demand going forward. This would allow the quarry to become a more sustainable business and to ensure the ongoing competitiveness of the quarry operations.

Local members of the community have been invited to a ‘walk in’ consultation event between 10am and 2pm on Wednesday 22nd of September at Swanland Village Hall, HU14 3QR.
