The three turbine wind farm at Kirkton Farm, Aberdeenshire, was commissioned on 25th January 2017.
Kirkton Wind Farm is a 6.9 MW site, consisting of three 2.3 MW Enercon E70 turbines. Locogen acted as Technical Advisor and Project Manager for the construction phase of the project, where they also achieved cost savings for the client, assisted with financial close and provided support on legal and wayleave issues for the site’s grid connection.
The client, Culsalmond Air Ltd, is owned by a local farming family who were looking at a way to diversify the existing farming business by installing renewables.

The wind farm was commissioned on 25th January and is expected to generate 21,800 MWh of green electricity annually, enough to power approximately 4,700 homes. Locogen’s dedicated Asset Management Team have been retained by the client to manage the operation of the site going forward.
