hare hill solar project

Project summary

Locogen and Renewco are planning to submit a planning application for a 31.5MW solar farm with 10.35MW embedded battery storage project on farmland for a period of 40 years.

The proposed development will:

  • Generate approximately 40GWh clean renewable electricity from solar irradiation every year.
  • Comprise circa 65,000 to 70,000 solar panels mounted on racks and arranged in rows with gaps to ensure limited shading covering approximately 100 acres.
  • Include 24 battery storage units and associated substation infrastructure.
  • The planning consent would be requested for a 40-year period. On reaching the end of its operational life, the proposed solar development will be decommissioned, and the site restored.
