Locogen led a consortium of companies to assess the techno-economic feasibility of a co-located long duration storage asset (a vanadium redox flow battery). Our detailed feasibility study included grid and land agreements, scoped the planning works required to build out the project in line with Welsh planning guidelines and provided an outline development plan.
Locogen provided a critique of several BESS suppliers, comparing their technology offerings, and provided a detailed risk assessment, cost/benefit analysis and ‘route to planning’ document scoping the planning requirements for a co-located lithium-ion BESS development at a 200 MW solar farm in England.
